The real key to any successful Halloween party is planning. Figure out a theme in advance. If you are traditional you may decide on Ghosts or haunted houses. If you like more color it could be a certain movie, or maybe a specific genre. The important thing is if it is ghosts and haunted house be sure to keep the decorations on that theme. Think about making your house look dilapidated with cobwebs, old radios, and dark, torn lampshades stained with tea to help your guests get in the mood. Letting your guests know the theme ahead of time gives them a chance to plan their costumes accordingly as well. You want to plan activities such as ghost stories and tales of haunted houses. Super heroes also make for good party ideas by giving people a chance to pick their favorite super hero and talk about their favorite movie, book, TV show, or comic that starred their hero.
